Since Marshall L. Watson started the agency in 1971, Watson & Durrer has been committed to active community participation in the Ruckersville, VA area. We sponsor many youth activities and have also founded the Marshall L. Watson Scholarship Fund. Watson & Durrer believe in giving back to the youth in our community and, in turn, the community as a whole.

Prior to founding Watson & Durrer, Marshall worked for State Farm Insurance for 15 years and was employed with the US Government for 2 years. Then, along with his sister Marian Durrer, Marshall opened the doors to Watson & Durrer.

The family legacy didn’t stop there - Douglas M. Watson, Marshall's son came to work for them in 1975. Doug, as many know him, is still very active and plays a vital role in the continuation of the family business. He leads the team today as President.
